ROYAL OAKS HOSPITAL
AWARDED ACCREDITATION

FROM THE JOINT COMMISSION

Windsor, Missouri – Royal Oaks Hospital, specializing in inpatient acute care behavioral health treatment, earned the Gold Seal of Approval™ from The Joint Commission for continued excellence in both quality and safety as it relates to patient care and overall hospital services.

To earn this distinction, Royal Oaks Hospital undergoes an extensive, unannounced, on- site evaluation by a team of Joint Commission reviewers every 18-39 months. The hospital is evaluated against Joint Commission standards through an assessment of hospital processes, hospital ability to evaluate and improve care within its own organization, and interviews with patients and staff. Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission, an independent, not-for-profit organization, seeks to continuously improve the safety and quality of care provided to the public. The Joint Commission, the nation’s oldest and largest standards setting and accrediting body in health care, evaluates and accredits more than 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States.

“Royal Oaks Hospital has always carried a great sense of pride and dedication to the patients we serve. Our concerns for patient safety, efficiency of care, and compassion drive our hospital to new heights each and every day,” says Jon Bair, Hospital Administrator. “It’s both rewarding and inspiring to be recognized by the Joint Commission with the Gold Seal of Approval ™ for the services we are so honored to provide.”

The National Institute of Mental Health estimates that 20% of American adults are affected by mental health disorders during any given year. The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry reports between 7 and 12 million American youths suffer from mental, behavior, or developmental disorders at any given time. As a 41 bed hospital, Royal Oaks Hospital has been providing behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults since October 1992 and in July 2004, became a part of Pathways Community Behavioral Healthcare, Inc. With the need for mental health services on the rise, Royal Oaks Hospital serves nearly 1,400 patients a year and caters primarily to Missouri residents.
